Common Customer Questions
Does it smell inside the van?
No — urine separation is the key. All three are odour-free when used correctly. In the Cuddy and Cuddy Lite, solid waste smells earthy, like a forest floor.
How often do I need to empty it?
Urine bottle: every 6.5 litres. Solids — Cuddy Lite: empty bag as required. Cuddy™: approximately 2–3 weeks for 2 people full-time, much longer if using other facilities. S1: when the sealed cassette is full.
Where does the waste go?
Urine: down any regular toilet/dump point or onto a mature tree. Solids: can be buried appropriately, added to a composting bin, or bagged in general rubbish (check local council regulations). Sealed bags from the S1 must be placed in general rubbish.
What if I change my mind after purchase?
No problem at all — retro-fit kits let you switch between all three models without changing the unit itself.
How does it fit in the caravan?
All three share the same footprint and mount flush to the wall. No side clearance needed (agitator is front-facing). Fits where most cassette toilets sit. There are 4 screw-down points in the base.
Does it need to be vented outside?
The Cuddy™ has a built-in fan and can vent externally or recirculate internally. The Lite and S1 can also vent externally with an optional adaptor. External venting is recommended for permanent installs.
